QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is a suicide prevention training program that teaches individuals how to recognize warning signs of suicidal thoughts, engage compassionately with someone in crisis, and refer them to appropriate mental health resources. Through its three core components—asking direct questions about suicidal feelings, persuading the person to seek help, and guiding them to professional support—QPR empowers everyday people to intervene effectively. Typically lasting one to two hours, the training aims to reduce stigma surrounding mental health issues and promote open dialogue, ultimately working to save lives and foster a supportive community.
