The five Laie Stakes' will host a Pacific Islands Exhibit, on November 4-5, with exhibits and mini-workshops in the Cannon Activity Center from 10 am-8 pm. To conclude the event, there will be a culminating fireside on November 6, at 5:30 pm in the BYH Stake Center.
Microfilms from government records from the Pacific Islands and other countries were stored in a granite vault in Utah and all these records were digitized. Sister Faumuina and Sister Schwenke have access to all of these digitized records and each exhibit stake was given a stack of different listings for many of the islands.
Members in the previous exhibits were able to find family connections on the display boards and added them into their family search accounts. From all of these displays, members of the stakes will be trained and encouraged to enter all those names who are not related to stake members into family search as unconnected persons and to share with the temple in the hopes that someday others will eventually find those names and get connected.
