Dr. Zach Boyd, BYU math assistant professor, will speak on "Math of mental health". In this colloquium, he will discuss predicting mental health outcomes, understanding group health behaviors (like drug use), and selecting treatments that might be helpful for different people (personalized medicine). Students, faculty, and staff are invited to join the Faculty of Math & Computing and get a better appreciation of mathematics, mechanistic modeling, machine learning, and statistics.
