BYU–Hawaii will be hosting a drive-by aloha oe for President and Sister Tanner near their home on campus. Though we wish we could send them off in true local fashion, the farewell will be done Laie COVID-19 style. Please join us in showing our love and appreciation for President and Sister Tanner!
Vehicles should enter campus via the main entrance at Naniloa Loop and drive on the Academic Oval heading towards the Lorenzo Snow Administration Building, continue on Napela Drive next to PCC, and turn right on to Mikionele Way.
Walk-by participants will be able to line up on the PCC side of President's Home. The line will begin on Mikionele Way, wrap around the Health Center, and onto the Academic Oval near the Academic Advisory Center. If needed the line will continue around the Academic Oval.
A barricade will be in place on the sidewalk so that participants can maintain a 6-foot distance from the Tanners at all times. Participants will be able to take up to two minutes to say their goodbyes, take photos, or give gifts or lei to the Tanners.
Vehicles will then exit by continuing on Mikionele Way, around the back of the Heber J. Grant Building, around the Stake Center, and back on to the Academic Oval and Kulanui Street through the main entrance.
